Every special thing

   "All summer in a day" by Ray Bradbury, this story is about kids that leave in another planet and that planet once every 7 years the sun comes out. This girl named Margot lived in Ohio in the planet earth, she loved the sun but then she needed to go to Venus because there father paid a lot of money to bring her there. The kids bully her because they have never see the sun and she has. In other words she was bully for something they have never saw. Margot had a lot of faith that the sun was coming out that day, she was waiting for this moment for 3 years and she was very excited. All the kids thought that all of this was a joke so they ignored her. This kid named William was the one that until her the most because he was very confident that the sun will never come out. They waited a lot of ours and many lost their faith. Margot never lost faith in the sun so she was steal very excited. William was very jealous at her so he told everyone to lock her in the closet. When there were locking her something happened, the rain stop. The sun was coming out. They played all the one Hour that they have. This was until the sun was cover and it started raining again. Everyone was happy when they realize that Margot was still lock up in the closet. Everyone was devastated but she was the most, she loosed everything that she wanted.

    

It was the color of flaming bronze and it

was very large. And the sky around it was a

blazing blue tile color. And the jungle burned

with sunlight as the children, released from

their spell, rushed out, yelling into the

springtime.

Ray Bradbury has showed as the sky, a blue and shiny sky. The children didn’t think that this was going too happened, so they ran as fast as they could and play like if it was spring time. The trees were shining and everything was colorful and amazing. Everything was like a sunny day and a place where you could do anything you want.

She was a very frail girl who

looked as if she had been lost in the rain for

years and the rain had washed out the blue

from her eyes and the red from her mouth

and the yellow from her hair.

Ray Bradbury is showing how this emotional and nice girl is ended because of the sun. She loose her color and old of her. This is a child who loved everything but stay with nothing.

I like this story a lot because it show us how we need to appreciate everything we have. And how different can be a people, do not think badly about her. Everyone is here for a thing. In this story is Margot but she was the one that lost everything and didn’t do something wrong. We dont need to gudge something that we dont know.

The giver

We have read the giver and we know that on this times Jonas has receive memories of pain and of pleasure. When the giver transmitted warfare to Jonas, he wasn’t the same. When he was with Asher and Fiona playing warfare, he only feels like in a real war. Fiona and Asher realize that when Jonas first started   to train he wasn’t the kid that liked to play every time and learn new things. Jonas one morning just asked the giver, “Do you ever think about release” (pg. 139). I think that for the receiver make him think about bad things and death.  The Giver and Jonas were talking and bring the topic about the failure 10 years ago. The giver was telling Jonas that when he was selected he handed the same reaction as rosemary, as we can see in this passage: “on the surface, it was quite simple. A receiver to be was selected, the way you were. The selection went smoothly enough. The ceremony was held, and the selection was made. The crowd cheered, as they did for you. The new receiver was puzzled and a little frightened, as you were” (pg140 Lowry). The giver was continuing explaining about the receiver and brought the name Rosemary. She liked the memories but when she feels the memories of pain she changed. The giver told him that when he becomes the new receiver he could read all books if he wanted and he can watch releases. The giver show Jonas the release of a twin, and founded out that his father killed him and send it to elsewhere.  

    

  

The giver told Jonas that rosemary applied for a release they show him the process. Now Jonas  knows what release means.  Jonas is to young to sufer a lot of pain but their are not only painfull memories. They are many happy memories that if Jonas could transmit he will do it. That is why the giver and Jonas whant to have an escape plan. The Giver is only planing that Jonas goes because he want to be finished, as we can see in this passage ¨i love you, Jonas¨ he said ¨but i have another place to go. When my work here is finished, i want to be with my daughter.

Chapter 13-16

Jonas has just known what the colors mean, but know he sees it everywhere. Jonas is thinking why it is wrong to see colors, Jonas said, what if we could hold up things that were bright red, or bright yellow, and he could choose? Jonas is thinking what if person sees this and knows what it means. The giver suggested, it will not be safe. Jonas now know animals, he sees this very good and interesting, Jonas knows that child’s would love to see this so he shows lily elephants. When Jonas transmits this to lily but Jonas is hurting her. The giver told him that when he is the official receiver he will have new rules. The giver told him those memories it is what it makes him, Jonas was disagree, he thanked that what we do each day it what makes us. This society needs receivers that were remained ten years ago. Jonas was thinking and asks him, what happened ten years ago? Jonas remembers, oh, you tried to train a receiver but it fail. He wanted to train but the giver told him to come back tomorrow. The next day, Jonas was going again to the annex room. In his agony he perceived the word “fire” and felt flames licking at the turn bone and flesh. He waked up screaming.

The daily training continues, and now he knows that he will suffer pain. The giver has suffered too but the mayor of time was destruction. The giver said, “And the strongest memory that came was hunger. It came from many generations back. Centuries back. The population had gotten so big that hunger was everywhere. Excruciating hunger and starvation. It was followed by warfare.”  The giver is the best of knowing memories but why he does only has memories of destruction. The next day Jonas come to train and he sees the giver feeling pain. Jonas asks him if he could do anything, the giver said “yes”. He told Jonas to take some of his pain. Finally Jonas was in a memory of destruction. Now he knows what war means. Jonas doesn’t like of suffering a lot he wants to be a child again. In odder words he wants his childhood. He wants to play with kid’s ball, not suffering pain. The giver has realized that Jonas is suffering a lot so he decides to give Jonas good memories.

Chapter 9-12

Jonas our protagonist has just received an assignment to be receiver, he do not know what that is but he know that he will train apart and he cannot tell what happened in his day of work. 

His friend Asher is very proud, well most are very proud but some think that it is not right. His father told him that the elders has chosen someone before, but it fail. Jonas it is now waiting for his first day as receiver of memory. Jonas has just arrived with Jonas to work, she tell him that if they finish at the same time she will arrive with him. Jonas has just arrived to work and he sees a desk with a person. The person that was in the desk had told him “welcome, receiver of memory”. She opens a door on the left side. 

When Jonas was waiting he saw a man, Jonas know that he has seeing him sometime.  He was the elder that had seemed separate from the others at the ceremony. The elder have been a long time receiver so he knows what he is doing. The elder has told him that he was selected just like him. He explained all to Jonas so he knows that to be receiver of memory is really hard. The Old man takes Jonas to a room so he could show him something. The elder has make Jonas fill snow. Jonas didn’t think that he could fill that, he thanked that he was still sleeper. When he wakes up he fill like if he didn’t move, he was very surprise. Jonas told the man to show all there power. The elder correct him, I do not have power, I have honor. Jonas has understood a lot in his training. He wanted to ask him a question, ¿what is your name? The elder moved his shoulder and said “you may call me The Giver”. His mom came and asking “you slept suddenly, Jonas” Jonas wasn’t prepared to tell a lie but he wasn’t even preparing to tell the truth. Jonas wanted to school but he felt something different. All classes were the same. He wasn’t preparing to tell his friends what he fills in the annex room. How could you tell something that someone has never seen or felt? At the end of school Fiona was waiting for him to go back together. Jonas went again to the training, Jonas told the man that he saw something deferent in her friend Fiona, her hair was different but not in shape or length. He didn’t know how to tell him. Finally he said “it changed. I don’t know how or why”. The elder to start the training he told Jonas if he had remember when he was seven or five. Jonas told him that he could remember. The elder told him well you will be able to go back farther. Try. Just concentrate.  Jonas closed his eyes, he felt the sled and hill and the snow. Suddenly he saw something changing like the apple or Fiona’s hair. Jonas waked up; the elder was looking him curiously. He tried again; the giver told him had you see the color red? That means that he could see beyond. He will gain more wisdom and more colors. Jonas asks him how he felt when he was at first a receiver. He told him another day, another day I will tell you.

Jonas is a kid that has 11 years that live in a dystopia world. Every thing is under control, there is no problem.problem. He has a sister that is about to have 9 years and a his best friend name Asher. One time Jonas and Asher were throwing an apple to each other when... Jonas find out that the apple was different. He realizes and takes the apple home. in that society you aren't suppose to do that so jonas is in problems. Jonas , Asher and his friend Fiona, goes to a rehabilitation center to help people.jonas find a person to help with a girl named larrisa. Jonas is oncomfterbal with the city because something is wrong.

 "well, its the last of the cremonies, as you know. After twelve, age isnt important. most of us even lose track of how old we are as time passes, though tyhe information is in the Hall of Open Records, and we could go and look it up if we wanted to. whats important is the preparation for adult life, and the training youll receive in your assigment"(pg 17). So if you have more than twelve you are an adult, you make the choises you want and you will recieve a job just like his parents. I can compare these to our world because some people in his families work younger and not as we think, like we think we work when we are 18 butr some work as an age of10.

I think the giver is a book for people that like to read something beyond what we think. When i thinked these book at first i was like, another book in class, but now that i have continue reading it has been interesting. I was imagine and thinkin in a world of a perfect society. How could it been possible. I have some preedictions too, i think jonas will no have a job but he will have something else.

chapter 5-8

                                                   The Gier chapter 5 to 8


In every chapter of "the giver" by Lois Lowry has attract me to read more and make me see what is going to happen next. In chapter 5 Jonas has his first stirring, he dream that he was in the House of Old with Fiona’s, Jonas dream that he was washing Fiona’s body in the tub. Then he told his dream to his mom and his mom tel Jonas that it was normal that happen that in that age, his mom give him some pills to prevent t happen again. In chapter 6, it started the ceremony of all the ages. The ceremony has started and kids of certain ages, when it was the turn of Lily they gave her a new bicycle. Then the kids of 10 years old go to receive the award. Then in chapter 7, it was Jonas turn and they were calling the kids for their numbers but not by their name. Then they call 20 and then 18, so they skipped Jonas turn. Jonas think that he made something wrong. Jonas kipped asking and asking to know what he did wrong. In chapter 8, all people think it was a mistake, but it wasnt. It was not a mistake because Jonas was not assigned for a job, he was selected, and he was chose to be our next receiver of memory. They chose Jonas because he have intelligence, integrity, courage, he is wisdom and finally he has something that others don’t have, the capacity to see beyond.

Reading is something my sister do wehn she has time. reading it could been define by saying that is a way of learning and entertainment. many people are inspire by books. they made incredible things ands its all because they no how to understen reading. Some do it for fun. they read cause it seems interesting.The student learned and understand better cause they read alot. if you are a person that dont read you could not be someone that know what he is talking about. If you read a lot you could be a better student. Reading is every place. You can fine reading in your school, home, books, electronic devices, etc. Many people use reading to explain something. when you read you found out what the author was traing to explain or express himself.
